Migration processes

The region of the district of Kaolinovo does not differ very much in the migration processes taking place in the region. The entire region is marked by intensive migration pointed towards the big economical centers in the country and abroad. It is of paramount importance, therefore, that a permanent occupation of the local people be created so that the physically able people in the area can be actively engaged in work. Opening plants like Kaolin Ltd can contribute greatly to resolving this problem.

The human resources in the Municipality are in a relatively good age group. The part of the population up to 18 years (5154) and over 60 years (5017) are almost level with a slight dominance of the children. The able-bodied people in the area are approximately 11138, which is a good factor for the Municipality.

The ethnical Turks dominate the region with over 79% of the entire population. The Ethnical Bulgarians are 9.4%. The Rome population in the region is relatively small - 10.5% and they are scattered around all populated areas in the District.

All in all, the ethnic allotment in the area has been preserved more or less the same as the state it had in 1992 with a slight deviation - a reduction of the total number of people by 1012. There is no statistical data for other years or periods of time so no generalizations can be made as to the tendency for the change of the average age group in the area. According to the data obtained from the Institution for the Population Count, this deviation is normal with no visible tendency for increase or decrease of the natural growth of the population.

It is a common tendency for the Rome population in the country to be on the rise, which necessitates implementing a long-term policy for its association to the development processes in the Municipality. The Ethnical pool of the District allows for a long-term policy for the integration of the ethnical minorities, which would prevent any potential ethnic discords that could possibly arise. It is very comforting to know that such discords in the District there have been none.
